All-Weather Pitch

The all-weather pitch located in the centre of the development will be built to meet the Grade B requirements of the FA’s national ground grading standard. It will be used by the School, Bishop’s Stortford Community Football Club and Bishop’s Stortford Football Club as well as other local grassroots community users. This pitch will be enclosed with an acoustic fence to reduce noise levels. It has been specially designed and positioned for this purpose.

Around the outside perimeter of the pitch there will be a spectator stand and terraces. The actual pitch will be surrounded by a 4.5m high twin bar fence with a rebound panel to ensure public safety at all times. The pitch will also be considerately floodlit to respect the neighbouring properties during the darker periods of the year.

Access to the spectator areas around the pitch will be via turnstile and gated entrances; one from beside the main pavilion and another at the south eastern end of the pitch with stepped and ramped access from each point. To the southern side of the proposed site, landscaping will be kept to a minimum.

The existing woodland will be retained with the development of a forest school for use by Summercroft Primary School. The existing pond is proposed to be enlarged and incorporated into the proposed forest school. A new fence will be installed around the perimeter of the site and all of the existing trees will be retained.
