E-Safety

The Internet is a great way to discover, create and connect with people. Issues around the safe use of the Internet and cyberbullying are few and far between, but they do happen, in all walks of life. Birchwood High School proactively promotes online safety and the prevention of cyberbullying.

Below are some great resources to help students and parents get the most out of your technology, use the Internet responsibly and to keep you and those you care about safe on the Internet.

Think U Know > Visit site

This is the website of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre, which features online resources for children between the ages of 8-16. The site focuses on how to have fun online, how to stay in control online and how to report online.

CEOP works with child protection partners across the UK and overseas to identify the main threats to children and coordinates activity against these threats to bring offenders to account. CEOP protects children from harm online and offline, directly through NCA-led operations and in partnership with local and international agencies.

When should I report to CEOP?

CEOP help young people stay safe online.

Has someone acted inappropriately towards you online, or towards a child or young person you know? It may be sexual chat, being asked to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable or someone being insistent on meeting up.

You can report it online by clicking here
