Trust Governance

Birchwood High School aims for the highest standards of governance. In Members and Trustees, we look to appoint individuals to provide the combined experience, skills and commitment to uphold the values and ethos of our school, and support the progress, achievements and safety of all who learn and work here. It is important to us that our governance represents our community and that its structure and recruitment reflect this.

Appointment

To function properly, our Board collectively needs a wide range of skills, as well as a diverse range of thought and experience. Member appointed Trustees are appointed for a four-year term. Trustees are recruited based on their skills and experience and the Board regularly reviews its membership to identify priorities for Trustee recruitment. If you are interested in becoming a Trustee and would like to find out more about the role and our current vacancies, please contact the Chair.

Parent Trustees are appointed for a four-year term by election by parents. Parent Trustees are integral to the Trust Board and a significant number of Parent Trustees go on to be reappointed by Members. Information will be posted here when there are elections due to take place.
